Following the release of Taken 2 last year, talk turned to a possible Taken 3 being made, with Liam Neeson once again returning to save the day. However, when asked about a Taken 3 movie, Liam denied that it would happen, saying that people would not want to see it.
Neeson said at the time, "I don't think it's going to happen, I can't see a possible scenario, that audiences wouldn't go 'Oh, come on. She's taken again? Unless we do one where I give her away." Yet it seems that Liam Neeson has since had a change of heart.
It has now been reported that Liam Neeson has signed on to star in Taken 3, which will see the actor receiving a nice $20m pay check for the role. It is no surprise that the studio would want to make Taken 3, considering that Taken 2 managed to gross $376m worldwide.
Robert Mark Kamen will pen the screenplay for Taken 3, along with Luc Besson and it is expected that both Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen will be the next two stars to sign on for the movie. Production is slated to begin in February 2014, which means we could get Taken 3 late in 2014 or early 2015.
