There is no denying that British boyband One Direction are the biggest boyband on the face of the Earth right now and are showing no signs of slowing down, with another tour on the way and a new album being worked on. However, being in the biggest boyband in the world means that you are going to find there are a number of split rumours that will come and go and this has certainly been the case for One Direction.
Liam Payne is the Gary Barlow of the group
In the past we have had claims that Harry Styles is leaving to pursue solo projects, Niall Horan is leaving to make records of his own and, more recently, there have been suggestions that Liam Payne will leave to become a songwriter for other artists. The latter rumour comes because Liam has admitted that he would love to write songs for other artists but this certainly does not mean he is leaving One Direction.
The One Direction boys have given a lot of interviews over the years and, on many occasions, they have suggested that Liam Payne is the Gary Barlow of the group. This is due to his sensible nature and now the fact that he does most of the songwriting for One Direction, while also looking to write songs for other people.

It will be interesting to see if Liam Payne can find the time to pen songs for other artists, as he is going to be very busy with One Direction for most of the year. He will no doubt have a big hand in the writing of the new One Direction album and we could possibly see some of the unused songs being recorded by other artists in the future. Watch this space!
