One Direction singer Liam Payne has been enjoying worldwide success since the band came third on the X Factor in 2010 but that was not the first time that Liam had auditioned for the show. Liam first auditioned for The X Factor back in 2008 when he was sent home at the judges houses stage by Simon Cowell.

While Liam Payne was sent home, a certain Eoghan Quigg was sent through to the live shows and, at the age of just 16, he finished third. While the two of them have seen their careers go in different directions, Eoghan is full of praise for his friend.
Quigg said, “He's done amazingly well for himself. It's great to see someone from The X Factor doing that.” Eoghan may not be enjoying the same success and fame as Liam but he admits that he enjoyed every minute of being on The X Factor.

He added, “I had the best time of my life. The only thing I'd say is, it might have been better if I was the age I am now. I was the youngest ever to get to the final. One Direction came after me. I was so young I didn't really understand what was going on.”
Eoghan continued, “I'm from a small town in Northern Ireland and I had to move to London. That's a big step for a 16-year-old. People say you're so lucky, but they don't see that you don't get much time to yourself.”
Eoghan Quigg is currently preparing for a Strictly Come Dancing Children In Need special in Northern Ireland.
