When he first auditioned for The X Factor as a 14 year old boy, Liam Payne could surely never have imagined just how hugely successful his music career would be, especially considering the fact that he was rejected that first time around, as well as being rejected as a solo artist the second time around. Fortunately for the young star, someone had the genius idea of putting him together with Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, to form the boyband One Direction.
During his One Direction days, Liam Payne spent a lot of time writing songs for his band, so you would expect that he would be the one to find the going the easiest, when it came to starting a solo career for himself. However, Liam has now opened up about writing new songs for himself and for his solo album, admitting that it is actually a lot harder than it was in his One Direction days.
Payne shared, "'I wrote a lot of the last One Direction albums. The solo writing process has been harder because you have to do a lot of soul searching. It's like therapy. You have to look at what you think about yourself, and what you think other people think of you. It's Jedi stuff - unreversed psychology, forward psychology."
Considering that Liam Payne penned a number of the big hits for One Direction towards the end, we are sure that he will have no trouble writing some fantastic solo songs and we cannot wait to hear what his new debut solo album has to offer. We also hope to see him back with his One Direction boys again in the future.
