It is always interesting to discover which stars auditioned for what roles over the years and just how different certain shows could have been if some different cast in these roles. It is not only the shows that would have been different though, it would also have had a very different impact on the careers of those involved, with some having better careers than they have now, while others would have been worse off.
Earlier this month, Hollywood actress Lily Collins revealed how she missed out on landing a role in the hit television series Gossip Girl, which devastated her at the time. However, over the ast few years we have seen Lily landing some rather interesting roles in a number of different projects, which would not necessarily have been the case had she landed the Gossip Girl role.
Collins recently revealed, "I tested for Gossip Girl. I wanted to be in it so badly, I thought at the time it was the end of the world. Well I would have got pigeon-holed, have had to move to New York, leave high school and be signed away for six years. I wouldn't have done the films I've done, and everything would have been so different."
Since then, Lily Collins has gone on to appear in movies such as The Blind Side, Abduction, Mirror Mirror, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, among others. Meanwhile, Lily also has plenty more projects lined up for the coming years, including an untitled Warren Beatty movie, Love Rosie, and the possible movie sequel The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes.
It just goes to show you that sometimes it is better to miss out on a certain role, as there could always be better offers just around the corner.
