Where has this year gone? It only seems like five minutes ago that we were welcoming in 2015 and now we are already making plans for Christmas and how we are going to welcome in 2016. One of the most exciting things about this time of year, is all the Christmas specials we get on TV, with Downton Abbey getting plenty of attention surrounding their Christmas special.
As most of you will probably already know, the Downton Abbey Christmas special will be the farewell episode of the show, which is coming to an end after six season. Actress Lily James previously played Lady Rose in Downton Abbey and, while most of the details surrounding the Christmas special are being well guarded secrets, Lily has confirmed she will return.
James was chatting to Harper's Bazaar, after she was one of the women named as one of their Women of the Year, when she explained, "It was amazing going back after a break. You are just totally re-inspired by the wonder of it, that grand house against grey skies and all the friends you haven’t seen in so long."
She then went on to add, "I have such happy, positive memories and a sense of accomplishment about being on the show. I don’t know if I’d be sitting here if it weren’t for Downton. It would have all been very different."
She is not wrong there. Since appearing on Downton Abbey, Lily James has gone on to become one of the most sought after actresses in the business, going on to play the lead role in the Cinderella movie, which has gone on to gross a huge $542m worldwide.
