Skier Lindsey Vonn is currently in the midst of the rehabilitation of her knee injury which forced her out of the 2014 Olympics and in a recent interview she admitted to finding a new hobby that some observers have found quite interesting. The beautiful blonde athlete known for being a daredevil on the slopes has taken up the sport of fly fishing and while she is still a novice she disclosed that her competitive juices are still intact.
On a recent fly-fishing trip with friends she was the only one to catch a fish which she informed the world via her GoPro video which she posted on CatchFlyFish.com.
For a women used to racing down as ski sloped as fast as she can in a bodysuit the world of fly fishing is completely different as she must exercise patience and repetition along with wearing waders in the water.
Some ski insiders think the beautiful skier is using the fly fishing as a protective mechanism against herself as it forces her to be relatively stationary and not engage in movements that she might duplicate in skiing other than during her rehab training and for someone as competitive as her this is likely a great thing.
She recently competed in the accuracy casting portion of the 2-Fly X Stream fishing competition at the GoPro Mountain games in Vail where she has a home and while the other fly fishers are not overly concerned about her at this stage of her learning the skill they are very appreciative of the attention she has brought the sport.
Lindsey Vonn in the eyes of some entertainment insiders also demonstrated why even when she completes her skiing career she has such a bright future. Her pursuit of a hobby, fly-fishing brought attention to a sport that rarely receives attention in the news. That is a true indication of popularity and lends many to believe that she will be in great demand as an entertainment personality the moment she retires from professional racing which hopefully will not be for many years.
