While many of the old timers of you out there will try to argue a case for George Best, Diego Maradona or Pele, it seems that Barcelona genius Lionel Messi can have his name added to the argument of who is the best player the world has ever seen.
It is pretty much impossible to say who actually is the best player in the world ever and it all comes down to opinion but there is no denying that Lionel Messi is definitely one of them. In fact, it is fair to say that Messi is the best ever when you look at the facts.
George Best was a great player but had a serious drinking problem. Diego Maradona was clearly gifted but cheated the world with his Hand of God. And Pele was a genius but played the majority of his career in Brazil before a brief spell in America.
Lionel Messi is playing in one of the best leagues in the world and is making it look easy. The little Argentinean not only scores goals for fun but he creates goals for fun too. At the age of just 24, Lionel Messi has played 314 games for Barcelona, scoring 234 goals and having 94 assists. The stats speak for themselves, which makes Lionel Messi the best player in the world ever.
