Musicians have been suffering from a very poor turnout at gigs recently due to the decision by fans to stay at home, rather than pay for tickets. Some big name stars have been hit by the stay at home fans including Bon Jovi.
Bon Jovi went on an all out arena tour last year and failed to sell out any of the venues they were playing. Chris Carey, a PRS for music economist, has revealed that after the rise in live music revenue of 2008 and 2009, 2010 actually experienced a 6.7% drop.
Carey revealed, "I don't think this is a disaster, I think it is a blip, I'm not worried about the future of live music." He went on to add that the big names touring this year should see another increase, "Take That going back on tour with Robbie is a game-changer. Our opinion is that live is cooling to a more sustainable growth level" explained Carey.
