As London enjoys day 3 of the 2012 Olympics, we take a look at the competing athletes and some of the weird and wonderful tattoo's they have.

British gymnast Louis Smith, who won a place in the Olympic final over the weekend, has 'What I Deserve I Earn' scrawled across the top of his toned back, with a cross and wings design underneath.
Italian gymnast Vanessa Ferrari manages to maintain her grace and elegance, revealing her floral ankle tattoo during her routine. The tattoo starts on top of her foot, and twits round and up to her ankle.

U.S. swimmer Dana Vollmer keeps it relative with a coloured tattoo of the Olympic rings. The inking is situated at the bottom of her back. French swimmers Clement Lefert and Fabien Gilot also have the Olympic rings tattoo on their inner bicep, which they proudly showed off following their victory in the Men's Freestyle Relay against the US yesterday.
US gold medal winner Michael Phelps also has the Olympic Rings inked on his hip, as well as an 'M' below his adjacent hip for the University of Michigan.
Belarus athlete Yana Maksimava revealed a tattoo during the women's heptathlon at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. It's on the bottom right hand side of her stomach, near her hip, and is a portrait of a cat.
While we're busy looking out for tattoo's at the London games, many are keeping their eye out for something - or rather someone - else. Leryn Franco is a hot topic of conversation at the moment. The javelin thrower is not expected to win any medals, but we doubt her talent is the reason most people can't wait to see the bikini model/athlete anyway.
