While some people have been calling for The X Factor to take a year or two off, giving people a break from the show and giving the producers the chance to come up with a fresh way to approach the format, it seems that these calls have fallen on death ears. We now know that The X Factor will return for a new season this year, although it is not yet clear who will be involved with the show this time around.
A lot of the recent talk has been about who the new host of the show could be, following the departures of Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, with Katie Price putting herself forward, while it looks like former host Dermot O'Leary is the favourite for the job. Meanwhile, Rita Ora claims that The X Factor and The Voice are fighting over her, while Nick Grimshaw has already confirmed he will not return this year.
So, with that in mind, there have been a few names being linked as the new judge on The X Factor and it looks like there is one name who is very keen on the idea. Louis Tomlinson rose to fame as a contestant on The X Factor, with his boyband One Direction becoming one of the biggest boybands ever, and Louis has now admitted that he would love to come full circle and be the new judge on the show.
Tomlinson was chatting to the British newspaper The Sun recently, when he explained, "Of course, it's really exciting. We've had no official conversation yet. But yeah, I mean, why wouldn't I?" We would love to see the superstar back where it all began.
Who would you like to see replacing Nick Grimshaw as the new judge on The X Factor 2016?
