The X Factor judge Louis Walsh has claimed that he believes Simon Cowell is worried that new boyband Union J will pose a threat to his band One Direction. One Direction have become global superstars off of the back of The X Factor and Louis is convinced that Union J can be just as big, if not bigger.

Walsh told the Daily Star, “He knows Union J are a threat to One Direction, so he's not going to say much about them. There's always room for a new boyband if they are good enough and they work hard.”
However it is not just Union J that Louis has high hopes for. He also believes District3 could have a big future. Walsh added, “I think we have got two great boybands. It's not just Union J, District3 have come back into the race too.”

Yet Simon Cowell has his eye on three other contestants, “I know he watched the very first show and I know he loves Ella [Henderson]. He couldn't believe Jahmene [Douglas]. I told him he was amazing and he said, 'I agree with you, Jahmene's got great potential'. And there was also James Arthur. They were his three,” said Louis.
The X Factor continues this weekend on ITV1, with the live show on Saturday night and the live show on Sunday night.
