Following the huge global success of the hit EL James novel Fifty Shades of Grey, it was no surprise when it was revealed that Hollywood were going to adapt the novel for the big screen. Since it was announced that a Fifty Shades of Grey movie was being made, there have been plenty of rumours about the movie, some of which have been cleared up by now.
One of the biggest talking points was which stars we would see in the lead roles for the Fifty Shades of Grey film, and there were plenty of names being linked. Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale was one of the women in line to play the role of Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey and the beautiful star has now opened up about her audition for the role.
Hale was reminiscing to MTV News, when she told them, "I think any girl in my demographic would have loved to be a part of it. Mainly, I was just interested in doing something risky and doing something a little different than my character on ‘PLL,’ so it took me out of my comfort zone."
She added, "Let’s just say I don’t want my grandmother watching this audition tape. It actually was just me [in the audition]. It was a two-page monologue of exactly what you would think it would be. Very uncomfortable, but it was sort of one of those things where you just had to go for it or you’re just gonna look lame — hopefully, I didn’t look lame."
Dakota Johnson was finally cast as Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, starring alongside Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, with the movie opening on February 13, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
