Luka Modric finally joins Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in £30m deal

It seems that the Luka Modric saga is finally over after the midfielder sealed his move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in a £30m deal from Tottenham Hotspur. The 26 year old was delighted at passing his medical and signing a five year deal with Real Madrid.

Modric explained, "I'm very happy, honoured and proud to be at the biggest and best club in the world. I'm very excited." Meanwhile, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy thanked Luka for his time spent at the club, "Luka has been a terrific player for us and, while we preferred not to part with him, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership," he said.

Real Madrid have been trying to sign the Croatian international for quite some time now and will be delighted to have finally got their man. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez Rodriguez stated, "We are delighted to welcome Luka and look forward to working closely with Tottenham in the coming years."

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andres Villas Boas will now be looking to bring in a new midfielder, to replace Luka Modric before the transfer window closes later this week.
