There is no denying that Warner Bros. and DC finally got something right with the Wonder Woman movie last year and, while the film received plenty of positive recognition and response, there was something still missing for the comic book movie. Some people had suggested that the Wonder Woman film should have received more recognition at the Academy Awards, including the original Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter.
Despite the fact that Wonder Woman did not manage to get as many Oscar nominations as many might have hoped for, it is still seen as a huge success and will return for a sequel in the near future. Lynda Carter has been talking about the second instalment and, while giving her views on the lack of Oscar nods, Lynda did admit that she would definitely be interested in appearing in Wonder Woman 2.
Carter shared, "I’m very close to Patty, and I think Gal Gadot did a wonderful job. I was really happy to see they showed a clip of the film during the Oscars, even though they didn’t nominate it for anything. Anything. It should have been nominated. They were left out of special effects, writing, everything."
She then went on to add, "Patty did an amazing job. The essence of the character is not an easy one to find the right balance of. Patty got it. We'll see what Patty does. I don't know how she's going to do it. I said to her, 'Whatever you want to do is fine with me."
We would love to see Lynda Carter involved in a role in the Wonder Woman sequel and we cannot wait to see where the character will go in the next film.
