Maisie Williams was, without doubt, one of the best performers to come out of Game of Thrones season 1 and with Game of Thrones season 2 fast approaching, she has compared the two seasons a little. Maisie has revealed what is different in way of her character, Arya Stark’s style and costume, since she had to run away at the end of season 1.
Williams explained, “Last season, Arya was high born, so she’s always being treated like a lady and then there’s loads of people around, servants and things. This season, it’s a bit more rough, rough and tumble and things. They asked me if I wanted to get my hair cut and my first reaction was ‘no way’. Then I was thinking about it and people on the internet have said ‘I don’t think she’ll get her hair cut, she’s too young, it’s a big decision to make’. So I just wanted to prove them wrong.”
She added, “It’s way better than last season, with all the pins and grips and that wig was really itchy too. I’m pretty lucky because some people it takes 40 minutes just to do a wig, although the dirtying does take a bit of time. It doesn’t really take as long as last season over all though, because the hair took a long time.”
Maisie concluded, “They just put grease everywhere, all on my face and it’s really hard to get this stuff out of my hair. The shampoo doesn’t really take it out because it’s too soft, so you really need something heavy duty to get it out otherwise it takes, like 5 washes. My costume is pretty much the same as last season.” You can see Maisie Williams, reprising her role as Arya Stark, when Game of Thrones Season 2 premieres on HBO on April 15, 2012.
