Mallika Sherawat was present for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and she looked sensational. Known for her provocative looks she surprised with her sophisticated, gorgeous appearance and her show of restraint as she did not resort to showing excessive amounts of skin to attract attention now was she the focus of attention because of her controversial comments.
At the Cannes Film festival she displayed not only the beauty of a leading lady which she has always possessed but the grace and a sophistication that one generally associates with an actor who is accustomed to the limelight. During her time at the festival she looked outstanding in every public appearance and to some entertainment insiders looked like someone who truly could become a star both in Bollywood and Hollywood.
On opening night of the Cannes Film Festival she walked the red carpet wearing a blue Emilio Pucci gown as she made her way to the screening of the film "Grace of Monaco". She followed this appearance with one at the inauguration of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival 2014 to which she wore an elegant white lehenga and looked like the leading lady and ambassador of indian women that many envision she would become.
Later on during the festival she was photographed looking stunning in an off the shoulder bodycon red gown made by Christian Dior while at a party with some of her Bollywood girlfriends on Paul Allen's super yacht 'Octopus'.
Her final red carpet appearance had her wearing an elegant white gown for the premiere of "Jimmy's Hall" and again she struck the perfect combination of sophistication and beauty.
She is still the strong, outspoken, ambitious actress that has become a favourite of Indian women worldwide but the way she dressed and the presence she demonstrated at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival impressed entertainment insiders both in Bollywood and those in Hollywood for how she seems to have 'matured' and developed into an actress who filmmakers could have as a leading lady for their project whether it be a Bollywood or Hollywood project.
The 'true' leading ladies do not have to seek the spotlight, it finds them just by how they dress, how they walk and their accomplishments and Mallika Sherawat at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival looked and presented herself like a Bollywood/Hollywood leading lady and in the eyes of many, was one of the biggest winners of the festival.
