Chris Noth is an American actor that has played a number of roles with that handsome face of his, but he does not want to be known just for his looks. Peer behind that outer shell and you will find a man that can dawn many different personas to become the character that he portrays. While he has the necessary skills of a seasoned actor he has that overall quality of mystery and take-no-prisoners attitude that smolders just underneath the surface, making him one of the most watchable actors in whatever role he chooses to portray. He keeps his personal life way under the radar giving fuel to his mystery even more.
When it comes to his acting he can easily slip on his performance coat and becoming “Big” the mysterious charmer in the Sex and the City series and movies. Or maybe you prefer his role as the gripping and probing detective on Law and Order, where he displayed his ability to be a convincing agent for five years from 1990-1995. Before he became a fixture on Law and Order he did several movies that gave him the ability to stretch his acting prowess.
Chris has transitioned smoothly to his current role as Peter Florrick the soul searching husband on The Good Wife playing opposite Julianna Margulies' character Alicia. Since taking this role, he has played it with a quiet, understated diplomacy that makes you want to know more about what his character might be thinking. When in character, he has the knack to be able to reach through the TV into your living room and make you want to know all of Peter’s dirty little secrets.
Chris may keep us on the edge of our seats wondering what his character might do next, but we never wonder about his innate quality to be true to self every step of the way. Loyal to friends and family he continues to reach new levels with what he can deliver and I for one will stay tuned for the next “BIG” thing he attempts today and tomorrow!
