Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the club for continuing to create the same character within the squad, which has moulded such a fantastic history. Sir Alex claims that it must be something to do with the genetics of Manchester United, as the club’s impressive character never seems to fade.
Ferguson explained, "Courage and determination are qualities that make the difference in a league packed with top-class players. But when push comes to shove, I believe that the character in our team gives us an excellent chance of defending our title. Manchester United's never-say-die approach is woven into the fabric of the club's history. I wonder at times exactly how long we can go on picking ourselves up.”
He added, "But it must be in the United genes because there is no sign of this invaluable quality fading." Manchester United are just two points behind league leaders Manchester City with just thirteen games left to play, on e of which will see them make the short trip to the Etihad Stadium on April 28, which could very well determine who will become the Premier League champions 2012.
