Over the past few weeks and months, and now doubt for the next few weeks and months, there have been plenty of rumours about which players Manchester United are looking to sign this Summer. There is no denying that there is a lot of rebuilding needed at Old Trafford but there have been enough names linked to the club this Summer already, that they would have enough players for two squads.
Obviously not all of these rumoured signings are going to get made but it looks like Manchester United have already managed to bag one of their main transfer targets for this Summer. There has been a lot of talk for a while now, about Southampton and England left back Luke Shaw making the move to Manchester United and it now looks like that move has been completed, in principle anyway.
According to the recent reports, Manchester United have agreed a fee with Southampton, believed to be in the region of £27m, while it is also being claimed that the Old Trafford club have agreed to pay the 18-year-old Luke Shaw a staggering £160,000 a week. That would make Luke Shaw the highest paid defender in the world. Not bad for someone who only really burst onto the scene last season.
While Luke Shaw will be focussing on the World Cup 2014 for the next few weeks, Manchester United have been linked to a whole host of other players, including the likes of Toni Kroos, Kevin Strootman, Arjen Robben, Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Arda Turan, Pepe and Cesc Fabregas, to name just a few.
Who would you like to see Manchester United sign this Summer?
