It has been reported that Manchester United’s young midfielder Tom Cleverley could be set to make his comeback from injury against Liverpool next month. Tom has been out of action since October, when he picked up an ankle injury playing against Everton and could be set to return to the side on February 11 against Liverpool at Old Trafford, which would be a huge boost to the team.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson explained, "I am hopeful in 10 days' time he will be training then we can kick on. When he plays depends how he does in training. His fitness levels should be fine, so he could cope right away. If he can, you are talking about a week. It would be a great boost to us. The way that Tom started the season was absolutely phenomenal.”
He added, "I have not seen a young player have that impact at our club for a long time. He has been a loss because he has something different from everyone else." The early season performances from Tom Cleverley caught the eye of England manager Fabio Capello, earning him a call up to the England squad. Unfortunately for Tom his injury has hampered his progress.
