It looks like new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is making sure that he does not make the same mistake that David Moyes did, by wrapping up some early new signings, rather than waiting until it is too late and panic buying. That is exactly what happened to David Moyes, who ended up paying over the odds for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
It has already been claimed that Louis van Gaal will be given a huge amount of money to spend on rebuilding the Manchester United squad this Summer, with talk of in the region of £200m being available to him. It has now been claimed that Louis is already working to wrap up two signings before the World Cup begins, with both Luke Shaw and Toni Kroos heading to Old Trafford.
If that does turn out to be the case, that will be a large chunk of that £200m being spent already, as both players will cost in the region of £20m - £25m each. Luke Shaw will be looking to move to a bigger club following his sensational season with Southampton, while Toni Kroos only has one year left on his contract and Bayern Munich would rather cash in now than lose him on a free next Summer.
There is certainly a lot of rebuilding that needs to take place at Manchester United this Summer and these two are only a couple of names being linked with a move to Old Trafford. Being a former Bayern Munich manager, it is no surprise that Louis van Gaal is being linked to a number of their players. As well as Toni Kroos, Manchester United are also being linked with Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mario Mandzukic.
We are already excited to see who Manchester United do sign this Summer and how much they spend in the process.
