While most of the top clubs in the English Premier League seem to shy away from players who are in their 30s, Manchester United have been bucking the trend. Last season, Sir Alex Ferguson turned to the retired Paul Scholes to help him in the title run-in.

Paul Scholes has proved that the old boys can still do it
That almost proved to be a stroke of genius, as Manchester United narrowly lost out on the title on goal difference. However, Paul Scholes was so impressive in the last few months of the season, that he earned himself a year-long extension, along with fellow old boy Ryan Giggs.
Now, while Chelsea have decided to get rid of the fading legs of Frank Lampard, who is now 34 years old, Manchester United seem to think he still has plenty left in him. Frank is out of contract at Chelsea in the summer and Sir Alex Ferguson is said to fancy him on a free.

Then there is 32-year-old Ashley Cole, who has been arguably the best left back in the Premier League for the past 10 years. Ashley is also out of contract in the summer and, while the big money of Paris Saint Germain is bound to come calling, Sir Alex is also hopeful of snapping him up.
Do you think Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard would make good additions to the Manchester United squad?
