Manny Pacquiao has got the boxing world excited, after admitting that he is definitely willing to fight Floyd Mayweather in May. However, a few things have been said by Manny, his promoter Bob Arum and his financial advisor Michael Koncz, which seem to suggest that they are in fact looking to make sure that the fight does not happen.

Manny explained, "This is the fight the world wants. Mayweather wants a guaranteed purse so what he has to do is get a promoter who can give him the guarantee. I don't have problems getting a guarantee because I have a promoter who will give me my guaranteed purse. If he gets a guarantee, then we are going to share the revenue on a 50-50 basis."
Arum added, "There is no problem on our part - the problem is on Mayweather's. Mayweather needs somebody on his side that's going to guarantee his purse. Mayweather has nobody on his side and GBP (Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions) is not going to guarantee his purse."

Michael Koncz then questioned the May 5 date at The MGM Grand, as he hopes for a fight in late May to coincide with the opening of a 45,000 arena in Las Vegas. He stated, "Why would I tell Manny to fight on 5 May and throw away a percentage of $30m? That's crazy."
Floyd Mayweather has constantly been calling out Manny Pacquiao and, while Manny has agreed to the fight in principle, it does seem that he and his team are putting excuses in place already as to why the fight does not happen. We, and the rest of the world, would love to see Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather but it does not seem like the fight is going to happen any time soon.
