Manu Bennett is a busy man these days, which has made working out difficult. Men's Health News recently named the actor "Hollywood's busiest badass," and it's no wonder. While his role as the gladiator hero Crixus on Starz's Spartacus has recently ended, he's had plenty to work on, starring as the villanous goblin Azog in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, and as Slade Wilson on the CW's hit series Arrow.
As comic book fans know, Slade Wilson becomes the morally ambiguous mercenary Deathstroke, a character known for his superhuman physical strength and frequent run-ins with DC Comic's Teen Titans. According to Bennett, the character will make that transformation quite soon. The actor is currently recovering from some shoulder injuries he suffered while on the set of Spartacus, so working out through the injury has been tough. His schedule is also crazy - filming five days a week, and doing conventions on weekends. This has meant big changes for how the actor keeps his body in excellent physical shape.
According to Manu, much of his focus has been on diet lately. As for exercise, he states:
"I've been doing a lot of swimming. I also do a lot of rowing to strengthen the back muscles and support the rest of my body."
He also includes hot yoga as an important part of his workout routine, stating it "really centers" him.
Are you looking forward to Slade Wilson's transformation?
