Things over at Warner Bros and DC have not exactly been going well for some time now and, while the Wonder Woman movie did give many of us hope for the future of the DC Extended Universe, there has since been so much more confusion surrounding things, especially when it comes to the likes of characters such as the Joker and Harley Quinn.
Australian actress Margot Robbie plays the role of Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe, giving a solid performance in the poor Suicide Squad movie. Now, Margot has been talking about what will be next for her and her character, suggesting that she will be back on set as Harley Quinn as early as next year.
Robbie has been doing a number of interviews at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she is promoting her new movie I, Tonya, when she was asked when she would be filming the Suicide Squad sequel, to which she replied, "I think next year I’ll be back in the fishnets wielding a baseball bat. I hope."
Meanwhile though, there has been a lot of confusion about the future of Harley Quinn, with talks of a Harley Quinn and Joker spinoff project, which nobody seems to really know too much about, including the Joker actor Jared Leto, and now it seems Margot Robbie too, "Your guess is as good as mine at this point. I don’t know," she added.
There has been talk of Jared Leto being replaced as the Joker for the new spinoff movies, so does that also mean that we will get a new Harley Quinn actress too? In the words of Margot Robbie, your guess is as good as ours.
