Most of you will recognise Maria Elisa Camargo from her work on television in Mexico, since she has been a huge success there in recent years. However, what a lot of you might not be aware of, is that Maria actually started out trying to make it as a singer in America. Maria has now revealed how she got her big break in Mexico.
She explained, "I was here in Miami recording music, trying to make a career as a singer, about four months or so, and I literally ran out of resources. I told the person I was working I had to leave and he said that Peter Damian, the producer of Rebel, was doing casting for his new novel, 'Why do not you try Mexico?'."
She added, "For me, Mexico was totally alien to me about everything, I knew no one, knew nothing of their culture, was not familiar with the accent. And I went alone to Mexico to do a few castings, and Peter Damian was who gave me the first opportunity, making me the villain in Summer of Love, which was one that starred Dulce Maria. Yasi began my stay in Mexico and I have not missed a job or affection."
As well as playing the role of Patricia Zorrilla is the show Love Rules, Maria Elisa Camargo will also appear in the upcoming movie Volando Bajo, which is currently in post production and expected to open sometime in the next year or so.
