It is that time of year again, where the rival reality singing competitions have to go in search of their new celebrities to run their panels. Simon Cowell is currently in a desperate search for some new judges on The X Factor, while The Voice UK is also in need of some new coaches for the new season.
While Will.i.am has confirmed that he will stay on for another season of The Voice UK, it has been revealed that Ricky Wilson is going to leave the show, making way for a new star. With that in mind, there have been plenty of names being rumoured, with Will.i.am putting forward Mariah Carey.
When asked by the British newspaper The Times, whether Cheryl Cole would be a good replacement for Ricky, Will.i.am, replied, "Cheryl? I don't even know if she'd do it," before giving his own suggestion for the gig, "Mariah Carey."
Meanwhile, Will.i.am also went on to talk about what keeps him going on the UK version of The Voice, admitting that it has a lot to do with his love for the series itself, while also stating that he has a lot of love for the UK as a whole.
He added, "I love The Voice, I really do. I love shedding light on the kids. I like coming to the U.K., it's my favourite place on Earth, literally." It seems that there are many people in the UK who love having you there too.
We still have quite a while to wait yet, until shooting for the new season of The Voice UK begins, so there is no real hurry to get a new coach on board. With that said, if Mariah Carey was available right now, strike while the iron's hot!
