During the build up to the Christopher Nolan movie The Dark Knight Rises, there were a number of rumours about the inclusion of Talia Al Ghul in the film. Many claimed that Marion Cotillard would play Talia Al Ghul but she denied the rumours, which eventually turned out to be true.
Speaking to MTV, Cotillard recalled, “I totally remember. I knew one day I would have to face you. It was at the Contagion premiere, wasn't it? I know. I totally remember. In my head I was like, 'Some day you will meet that guy again.'” Marion almost had to turn down the role but thankfully Christopher Nolan was able to work around her.
She added, “He made it work and I was so happy, because I love working with him. He directs these big-scale, huge movies, but at the same time he's a real artist. He's an author. He's like an independent filmmaker directing huge movies, which is very inspiring. He's at every step of the process of the movie. He really owns the stories he tells.”
Marion Cotillard is one of the best actresses in the business right now and she has been receiving huge praise for her performance in her new movie Rust and Bone, so much so that many have tipped her to win an Oscar for the role.
