Mark Millar says The Grey and Chronicle outdo The Dark Knight Rises

  • Mark Millar has revealed his top 3 movies for 2012
  • He says that The Grey would be 1st, Chronicle 2nd and The Dark Knight Rises 3rd
  • Mark also says that The Dark Knight Rises is better than The Avengers
Mark Millar is a man who is not afraid to be a bit controversial in some of the things he says and he has now admitted that his top 3 movies of 2012 could be considered controversial. Mark has The Dark Knight Rises as his third best, behind Chronicle in second and The Grey as his top choice.

Millar explained, “Third would have to be Dark Knight Rises. Controversial, I know, but I think this might be my favourite of all the Batman movies. It has its problems, especially Nolan's reluctance to make Batman himself especially interesting, and the pay off with Bane SO anticlimactic after such a brilliant build up.”

He added, “But it's got so many good moments and was so incredibly ambitious that I think it clobbers Avengers in terms of pure cinema. Avengers was a very fun popcorn movie with a lot of good jokes, but in terms of actual scale and depth I think Dark Knight rises to the top for Summer 2012 for me.”

Speaking about the Chronicle movie, Mark stated that he loved the final fight scene at the end of the movie, calling it his “favourite conflict in a superhero movie ever”. What are your top 3 movies of 2012?
