There is no denying that Hulk is one of the most people characters that Marvel have to offer, with fans all over the world loving the green giant. While Marvel have been having huge success with a lot of comic book characters on the big screen, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe becoming huge, Hulk is one of the characters that they have really struggled with over the years.
We have already had two Hulk movies over the past few years, with the 2003 Ang Lee movie Hulk, which had Eric Bana playing the lead role, as well as the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, which was directed by Louis Leterrier and had Edward Norton as Hulk. Both films were considered flops but Joss Whedon seems to have got the character spot of for his Avengers movies, with Mark Ruffalo impressing in the role.
Since Mark Ruffalo has done such a good job as Bruce Banner and the Hulk, thanks to the impressive talents of Joss Whedon, there has been plenty of talk about a new Hulk standalone movie being made. While Mark has admitted that he would love to play Hulk in his very own film, he has also admitted that it is not quite there yet.
Ruffalo told Digital Spy, "It was basically ‘No!' Now there is some consideration for it. But there’s still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut. I think obviously the Banner/Hulk storyline is not an easy nut to crack."
We could still have a long wait before we do get to see a Hulk movie but, until then, we do still get to see Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which opens on April 24, 2015 in the UK, before hitting the US on May 1, 2015.
