It feels like everybody in the acting industry today would love to have some sort of involvement in a comic book movie, so it is no surprise that we are seeing more and more top names signing on to get involved with superhero films. We already know that Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is going to appear in the new Marvel movie Thor: Ragnarok, which led to plenty of speculation about which character she will play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Well, Mark Ruffalo will also appear in Thor: Ragnarok, reprising his role as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk and the acting has been talking about having such a talented actress as Cate Blanchett on board. Mark admitted that he is very excited to get to work with Cate, before then revealing that the actress will take on the role of a villain in the movie.
Ruffalo was being quizzed by ET about Blanchett's involvement, when the actor said, "I'm so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work! She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting.
Thor: Ragnarok will see Chris Hemsworth back as Thor, with Tom Hiddleston returning as Loki, and Jaimie Alexander reprising her role as Lady Sif. The movie is set to hit the big screen on october 27, 2017 in the UK and November 3, 2017 in the US.
