Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he hopes to direct his very own comedy movie sometime in the near future. Mark admitted that he had considered directing the 2010 hit movie The Fighter but that he felt he would rather direct a movie with a more comic edge.
Wahlberg explained, "I've definitely been thinking about it a lot. I don't want to cross the line, either, because I see myself saying, 'Hey, no, what about this? That's not going to work'. I would do that with the script, and there are scenes that you know just aren't going to make it into the movie, so it's like, 'Why are we shooting this?' I've got to remind myself to allow the director to direct."
He added, "There was a time when I was thinking about directing Fighter. But I think I want to do something that's a little more on the comedic side." Mark Wahlberg recently confessed that he is hoping to get the filming for The Fighter 2 underway later this year. Mark Wahlberg can next be seen on the big screen in Contraband, which is set to be released in the US today (January 13) and in the UK on March 16.
