It has been reported that the new Transformers movie to be directed by Michael Bay will be set four years after Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Transformers 4 is expected to star Mark Wahlberg as a brand new character and not a direct replacement for Shia LaBeouf.

Michael Bay with old Transformers cast
Bay told TMZ, “No no. The movie will continue four years from the Attack on Chicago; which is in the last movie. So it’s going to still have the same lineage. And it’s going a full new direction and feels very natural how it’s going in that direction. There is no way you’re going to ever find out what the story is, because you don’t have to dig through my trash, but I shredded my trash.”
Mark Wahlberg’s involvement in Transformers 4 initially started off as a rumour and was even denied by Michael Bay himself. However, Bay admitted that the internet rumours got him thinking about how Mark Wahlberg would be the perfect choice for Transformers 4.

Mark Wahlberg to lead Transformers 4
Michael Bay is obviously a man who has difficulty making a decision and sticking to it, as he previously stated that he would not be returning to direct Transformers 4. He then had a change of heart, as he did not want somebody else tampering with what he had created.
Transformers 4 is currently expected to be released on June 27, 2014.
