Actress Martha Higareda wrote, directed and starred in the film "Get Married If You Can" and the film opened the recent Hola Mexico Film Festival that took place in Los Angeles to full capacity. The film, a romantic comedy about a young woman who is about to get married and a week before the wedding finds out about how she has been deceived and in the course of the movie finds herself "lost in a jungle with her wedding dress until a suitor comes to her rescue". The movie was an interesting choice for this gorgeous actress known as the sexy 'bad girl' of Mexican cinema but her heart was in the right place.
She loves her country and the people of Mexico have been experiencing some difficulties financially and as such the last thing Mexican movie viewers need is to see another movie about drugs and gangs. Instead her thought process is that movie goers want to see a movie that makes them laugh and for approximately two hours takes them away from the challenges and stresses of life in Mexico. She wants the focus to be on the great culture and beauty of Mexico as well the comedy associated with the importance of women getting married once they reach a certain age in Mexico.
This movie hit close to home as she is still unmarried and some entertainment insiders have speculated that maybe her own life may have partly inspired this movie but not her next project. It was recently announced that the attractive actress will be part of the film "The Last Beat" which is about the life of Jim Morrison, the lead singer of "The Doors" which will begin filming in late 2014.
Martha Higareda shows her love for her country in her movie "Get Married If You Can" and also demonstrates that she is not just a talented actress but also a director who is one of the best ambassadors of Mexico and the beauty and culture that exists within the country which she showed through this movie.
