As you will be very aware by now, the San Diego Comic Con took place at the weekend and there was a lot of exciting news coming from some of the big, up and coming blockbuster movies that are on the way. We learned a lot about what to expect from these projects, as well as being given some fantastic images, along with some brand new and exclusive footage.
One of the movies that had a fun panel at San Diego Comic Con was Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which will see wrestler turned actor Dave Bautista playing the role of Drax the Destroyer. Following his appearance at San Diego Comic Con, Dave was kind enough to do a few interviews and, during one of these interviews he admitted that he had never read a comic book before.
Bautista was being interviewed exclusively by the guys over at Comic Book Movie, when he told them, "No. Not at all. No I was familiar with certain super heroes. They were from comic books, from lunch boxes, but mostly through TV and film. I am a TV and film buff. I didn’t grow up as a comic book reader. I’ve seen them, but I’ve just never opened up one sat and read through, I was the kid that would look at the pictures."
As well as starring Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, the Guardians of the Galaxy cast will also see Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, with the voices of Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn and will open on July 31 in the UK and August 1 in the US.
