2010 X Factor winner Matt Cardle has revealed how he could never have imagined having the success that he has had, with a number 2 album and a number 1 single since winning the show. Matt also spoke of his joy at seeing his friends One Direction doing so well.
Cardle explained to Now, “It's beyond my wildest dreams. Sometimes I think: ‘Jesus Christ, what more can I do?’” He then went on to reveal how he was happy to see One Direction having so much success, although he does not miss touring with them.
He added, “Um, it's so different what they're doing and what I'm doing. But I'm so happy for those boys. Before they left for America I gate crashed one of their rehearsals and they haven't changed. They just go at 100 miles an hour. On X Factor tours in the past, the female winners always had their own dressing room and the male winners didn't. So I said I'd muck in with everyone else.”
Matt continued, “But after one show I asked for my own room because I was sick of seeing One Direction in their pants! They were jumping off the walls and bouncing off me. I was like: ‘F*ck me, I can't handle this!’”
