Matthew Fox will forever be remember for his portrayal of the character Jack Shephard in the supernatural television series Lost. However, his upbringing is a far cry from his Hollywood lifestyle now, as Matthew and his family moved to Wyoming when he was just a baby and he was brought up learning the ways of the rancher in Cowboy country.
Fox explained, “I absolutely loved it. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It's growing up on the reservation. I grew up in a part of the world where the mentality is that you're going to figure all of that stuff out for yourself, and hopefully you're not going to lose a limb while you do. My mom and dad did an incredible job, and the fact that I and my brothers made it through doing some of the things we did, and nobody lost an arm or worse, is a real tribute to them.”
He added, “As much as we were rebels and looked for excitement in certain ways, we always kept our heads on straight, we never went too far.” Matthew Fox can be seen on the big screen next year, when he appears alongside Brad Pitt and Eric West in the Marc Forster movie World War Z, which is set to be released on December 21, 2012 in the US and January 3, 2013 in the UK.
