There have been a lot of concerned looks on a lot of people’s faces when they see Matthew McConaughey and his extreme weight loss. Many of his fans have been concerned for the actor and are worried that he may have some sort of illness.

However, the fans need not worry, as Matthew is just shedding the weight for his role in his new movie The Dallas Buyers Club, where he plays the drug addict Ron Woodroof, who contracted HIV and became one of the first ever AIDS activists.
McConaughey told US Magazine earlier this year, “I'll get down to the weight I need to get to. I'm on my way, and it's what I need to do for the job… I'm playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn't. For me, it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing.”

As well as starring Matthew McConaughey, The Dallas Buyers Club will also feature Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto. The movie is directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, based on the screenplay by Craig Borten. The Dallas Buyers Club is due to be released sometime in 2013.
