We reported earlier this month that the battle was on to win the role of Jared, in the latest movie to be based on Twilight writer, Stephanie Meyers work, The Host. It seemed that Liam Hemsworth and Kit Harington were the favourites to win the part in the movie.
However, it has been confirmed that Max Irons, the son of British actor Jeremy Irons, has won the role of Jared in The Host. Jared is the love interest of Melanie, the girl whose body is taken over by an alien being and is set to be played by Saoirse Ronan.
It also seems that the part of Ian, who falls in love with the alien being inside Melanie, is set to be cast, with Jake Abel believed to be given the role. The Host is set to begin filming in February, 2012 and is expected to be released on March 29, 2013.
