There has been quite a fair amount of anticipation surrounding the forthcoming television series Bates Motel, which acts as a prequel to the hit movie Psycho and now it has been confirmed that the show will definitely be set to premiere in March.

While Bates Hotel will act as a prequel to the Psycho movie, executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights) insist that it will be a show in its own right. Cuse explained, “We don’t really view any of that as canon,” adding that the story will have a contemporary setting.
Bates Hotel is set to have many violent scenes and a number of scenes of violence to women but Cuse and Ehrin insist that they will make sure that the violence is seen as negative and wrong and not promoted. Norman Bates will be played by Freddie Highmore and his mother, Norma will be played by Vera Farmiga, while Max Thieriot will play Dylan Bates.
