While there are still a lot of people criticising the fact that Megan Fox is playing April O'Neil in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, it is nice to see that the actress is not letting their negativity get to her. Megan has recently admitted that she is a very big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and has been since she was a child.
Now, Megan Fox has gone on to reveal the real reason that she agreed to play the role of April O'Neil in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and it wasn't ony because she was a fan. Megan says that the main reason she took the role on, is because she wants to make something that her kids, who she has with Brian Austin Green, can look back on and be impressed by.
Fox explained, "I wanted to do this movie because I was a fan as a kid, obviously, but also I wanted to do it because I think I anticipate that my sons will be like, 'My mom is April O'Neil!'"
While that is as good a reason as any to agree to take on such an iconic role, Megan Fox has also admitted that, while she does want to impress her children, she is pretty sure they will not see her as being cool in any way at all. After all, she is their mom.
Fox added, "I'm sure that won't happen, because no matter what I do for work, I'm still always just their mom and I'm never gonna be cool. But I hope that like, maybe when they're 25, they'll look back and be like, 'That was pretty rad,' because you know, if my dad had been in 'Point Break,' I would be like, 'That's amazing!'"
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens on August 8 in the US, before then hitting the big screen in the UK on October 17.
