When it was announced that there were plans to make a reboot of the classic kids favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there were a few sceptical fans who were not too keen on the idea. Then when it was announced that Michael Bay was on board to produce the movie, there were even more upset fans. Then came the final straw of casting Megan Fox in the role of April O'Neil, which angered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans around the world.
The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has now been released in the US and the movie has already proved a huge box office success, already managing to gross $80m in the US, while it has taken $109m worldwide. While a lot of fans have still criticised the movie, money talks and following the financial success of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, there are now plans to push on with a sequel.
That means that those fans who were critical of Megan Fox being cast as April O'Neil, who have also gone on to criticise her performance in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, are going to have to put up with it at least one more time. We have no doubt that Megan will happily reprise the role as April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and we also have no doubt that the critical fans will still pay money to go and see it.
As well as Megan Fox returning to play April O'Neil, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will also see Michael Bay returning to produce the film, which has already been given a release date set for June 3, 2016.
