The former One Life to Live star is starring in the new Fox comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Fox has just announced that the Andy Samberg fronted show will get the coveted post Super Bowl spot. Melissa Fumero plays Detective Amy Santiago, the female lead.
Detective Amy Santiago is a straight lace by the book detective who loves to suck up to the new department captain, Ray Holt, who is played by Andre Braugher. When we last seen Amy Santiago, it was the mid season finale where she tried but failed to get her co-worker, Detective Diaz, to smile. Santiago took the B story, because in the episode before the detective was front and center. She hosted a Thanksgiving dinner that no one was thankful to eat.
Many fans were devastated when ABC canceled long running soap opera, One Life to Live in 2011. The show has recently resurfaced on the internet, but Melissa Fumero has said goodbye to her character, Adriana Cramer, for good. Since the cancellation of the show, Fumero has done a few guest spots on Royal Pains, CSI: NY and Men at Work. She also stars in an independent film titled, The House that Jack Built. It was released in June 2013.
You can watch Melissa Fumero star in the Golden Globe Nominated Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Fox, Tuesday 8/7C. The special Super Bowl episode will air on February 2.
