It is fair to say that the hit CBS comedy series The Big Bang Theory is one of the biggest and best shows on television to date and continues to get bigger and better with every season. While a lot of shows struggle to stay fresh every year, the writers of The Big Bang Theory have managed to keep coming up with new ideas and new ways of keeping the show fresh.
One of the ways that the writers kept The Big Bang Theory fresh was by bringing in the new characters such as Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Amy (Mayim Bialik), with both characters going on to become series regulars. As well as appearing in each new episode of The Big Bang Theory every week, these two characters have also become fan favourites along the way.
WIth the new season of The Big Bang Theory set to premiere in September, there have been worries that it would have to get pushed back, as there have been contract issues with the rest of the main cast. Now though, it has been confirmed that Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard, Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, and Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon, have all signed on to a new $1m an episode contract.
This news will surely frustrate the likes of Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik who are the big losers in the contract wars, as they signed a new contract for The Big Bang Theory in September 2013, which would bag them a maximum of $100k an episode. This is a huge difference and is it hard to justify in our opinion. We are big fans of The Big Bang Theory and big fans of Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik and hopefully they get another pay rise, which they deserve, in the near future.
