French television journalist Melissa Theuriau and host of 416 Prod was recently interviewed and the wife of Jamel Debbouze revealed some very interesting information.
She is known as not just a beautiful television journalist but one of great courage and determination and her disclosures show that it is not just 'an act' but actually something she truly is. She admitted that she "always had in me this revolt against injustice. I refuse prejudices, preconceived ideas I want to dig, dig, peel off labels. Seeing people live, understand who they are ... is the heart of my job today."
Melissa Theuriau shocked many when she refused 20 hours of air time at TF1 while working at LCI. Most television journalists, young or old would never pass up an opportunity for more air time but she, in one of the more incredible moves on television rejected the offer as she felt she needed more experience.
While many individuals would bemoan such a decision she looks back at the decision with a smile and has absolutely no regrets and it is obvious that this decision has turned out well for her. Her advice for those following behind her and who look at her as a role model is to not be afraid to say no.
It is obvious from her interview that one of the things she is most proud of is her personal life, her family with comedian Jamel Debbouze and their two children Leon, 5 years of age and Lila, 2 years of age. She considers one of the highlights of her life was the opportunity "to meet, marry, start a family with him." She cherishes the balance that her family provides her more than anything.
Ironically, her husband has inspired her latest project, "Liberty, Equality, Improvise which is a documentary about improv theatre which is where the career of her husband began.
Melissa Theuriau is a journalist of immense courage and principle as she knows what she wants out of her career and her life and she will not change her personal philosophies to achieve it.
