There were a lot of rumours earlier in the week about who would be penning the screenplay for the Star Wars: Episode 7 movie. The longer the week went on, the more it seemed that Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt would be the one given the job.

Now, it has been confirmed that this is exactly the case and Michael will be the first person to have a crack at writing the script for Star Wars: Episode 7. Michael is one of the best in the business and won an Academy Award for his screenplay for the movie Little Miss Sunshine.

Arndt has also penned some big movies and wrote the screenplay for the forthcoming movie sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It is believed that Michael Arndt will pen the script based on an outline by the Star Wars creator George Lucas.
