Transformers director Michael Bay is set to return to helm the fourth instalment of the hit movie franchise, despite the fact that he said Transformers: Dark of the Moon would be his last. Michael has now revealed that his reason for returning is that he did not want anybody ruining what he had built.
Bay explained to The Huffington Post, “I thought I was done, then the ride came out. And then you’re thinking, Oh my God, someone’s going to take this over and you start doing a lot of soul-searching. The studio says they want to restart the franchise, and someone could come in here and screw it up, you know?”
So far it has already been confirmed that the new Transformers movie will be a reboot of sorts, as Transformers 4 will introduce a whole new range of Autobots. However, Michael Bay has admitted that they will not be forgetting what happened in the previous three films.
He added, “We’re basically taking the history of where it was or where we left it in Chicago. And we’re going to carry it on from there.”
It is also expected that there will be a whole new human cast, as well as the new line up of robots but there has been no confirmation of who will be involved in the movie. One thing is for sure, we have seen the last of Shia LaBeouf in the Transformers movies.
