It has been confirmed that the Michael Bay produced Ninja Turtles movie is set to begin shooting in April of this year. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the film but Michael has assured fans time and again that the movie will not disappoint.
Ninja Turtles
Many people were angered, when it was revealed that the Turtles would be of Alien origin and that the title of the film would be shortened to Ninja Turtles, rather that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, Michael Bay has defended every decision that has been made for the movie.
He said at the time, “Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE'S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.”
The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Ninja Turtles is set to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, based on a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum and is currently due to be released on May 16, 2014, the same date as the highly anticipated Godzilla movie.
