Michael C Hall has been talking about the end of Dexter, claiming that his character will definitely get caught eventually. Michael says that he cannot imagine there being a happy ever after for Dexter and that everything has been building towards him getting caught.
Talking to Salon, Hall said, “I imagine Dexter is going to get caught one way or the other and by that I mean, can we really expect him, at this point, to walk into the sunset? Or get off without a blemish on his conscience or character?”
He added, “In a way, he is already caught. Once [his wife] Rita (Julie Benz) dies, he is caught. Once [his sister] Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) is in on the secret, he is caught. And what he's caught by is the undeniable fact that how he conducts himself has an effect on more than just him and his victims. As far as whether he goes to jail, or gets put to death, or gets hit by a bus or whatever it might be, I can't say.”
Dexter will continue to air on Showtime every Sunday at 9/8c in the US. Meanwhile, the show will debut season seven in the UK in early 2013 on FX, which is being rebranded as FOX.
